THE ALEX PERFORMANCE PROCESS
A training programme is only useful if it's right for the athlete executing it.

The process is continuous. Every training block gives us new information about the athlete, which informs what comes next.
THE WHOLE ATHLETE
Performance doesn't happen in isolation. Training is only one part of the equation. I consider the wider factors that influence how an athlete trains, recovers and adapts, and how those factors fit into their life.
TRAINING
Purposeful work.
Training is built around the athlete's sport, goals, current ability and what they need to improve.
RECOVERY
Adaptation happens here.
Sleep, rest and recovery are essential to how an athlete responds to training and continues to progress.
NUTRITION
Fuel the work.
Nutrition supports training, recovery and the demands of the athlete's sport.
LIFESTYLE
Training has to fit real life.
Work, study, relationships, routines and commitments all influence how an athlete can train consistently.
STRESS
Understand the load.
Training is one form of stress. Understanding the wider demands on an athlete helps determine how much they can realistically handle.
PERFORMANCE
Everything comes together.
The goal is not simply to complete more training. It's to build the physical and mental capabilities that allow the athlete to perform better when it matters.
The goal isn't to optimise one part of the athlete. It's to create a system where all of the parts work together.
